Advanced Disaster Life Support – ADLS®
Response Systems facilitates the delivery of these vital training classes via partnerships with Certified National Disaster Life Support (NDLS) Foundation Training Centers.
ADLS® is an advanced practicum of the principles introduced in Basic Disaster Life Support™ (BDLS®). ADLS is two days in duration and includes classroom activity, scenario-based and “hands-on” field exercises related to the essential disaster skills for the healthcare and public health community.
Target Audiences:
This course is designed for all levels of health care providers (physicians, nurses, paramedics / EMTs, allied health care) public health workers and members of the first responder community (law enforcement, fire service, emergency management, etc.) with broad public safety responsibilities.
Prerequisites and Credits:
Basic Disaster Life Support (BDLS) is prerequisite to the ADLS Course. ADLS:15.5 Category 1 CME hours. A certificate of completion will also be awarded.

Basic Disaster Life Support – BDLS®
BDLS® has been developed in partnership with the American Medical Association (AMA) and a wide range of health care providers and public health workers. The courses provide a uniform approach to emergency health preparedness and response. BDLS® is a didactic course that provides broad overview of the weapons of mass destruction/effect as well as discussion of topics of natural disasters, public health and psychological issues in disasters.
Target Audiences:
BDLS® is targeted to multiple disciplines including: emergency medical service (EMS) personnel, Fire, hazardous materials personnel, public health personnel, and health care providers. By teaching multiple disciplines simultaneously, a commonality of approach and communications will develop, improving the care and coordination of response in All-Hazards disaster and public health emergencies.
Prerequisites and Credits:
Continuing education credit will be awarded for the successful completion of BDLS: 7.5 Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) hours. A certificate of completion will also be awarded.
